OPEN DOOR QUILTING

ABOUT US

We are a small family business – it’s just the two of us – Michael and Starlyn Baker. Together we have over 53 years of experience quilting. Not only do we enjoy quilting, but we also enjoy helping others. We have quilted many items for friends and family over the years, and now that we’re “retired,” we have decided to provide professional quilting services full-time.

We will give your quilt the same detailed attention that we would give one of our own. We want you to be completely satisfied.

We quilt on a Handi Quilter longarm machine computerized with a Pro-Stitcher. We can provide edge-to-edge quilting or custom quilting. Many quilts look great with edge-to-edge stitching, but other quilts just really come to life with custom stitching. The choice is yours!

Please open a chat, text, email, or call us if you have any questions. We will gladly answer any questions and discuss how we can help with your quilt project.

Such a Great Resource

Since coming across Open Door Quilting a few months ago, I have had nine quilts longarmed by them! Do you know how quilt tops stack up in your cupboard? Well, I had nine and Michael said “send as many as you want!” The first time I sent three and I was so happy with the work that I sent six shortly after that. I am so happy I found Open Door Quilting! They are fast, do excellent work, and communicate with you every step of the way. I have had different services done on different quilts, such as trimming, sewing the backing fabric together and using their batting. The costs are so reasonable for the quilting and all the extras. If you want him to, Michael will give you suggestions about what color thread to use and what design would be good on your quilt. Starlyn even repaired a small section on one of my quilts that was missed and unsewn. They do everything they can to get you the best outcome. I feel completely at ease with them and was never worried about what was going on or what kind of job they were going to do. The Bakers are real treasures!

Love Open Door Quilting Services!

Since May 1st, I've had 4 quilts quilted by "Open Door Quilting" and they are already back in my possession; they look amazing. They are very well done; I love the work & design on every one of them. I am so impressed with their services! Their fees are reasonable & affordable, an easy ordering & shipping process (they even pay the return shipping cost), fast turnaround and excellent customer service. I am so happy I trusted them with my quilts, all the way from Ohio to Alabama!
I give them my highest recommendation.

Sentimental Tablecloth

Imagine for a minute you are going through bins of tablecloths after moving to a new home in a new state far from home. The bin contains the best of your tablecloths and napkins for various seasons. Folded neatly are two tablecloths that you’ve kept from your childhood belonging to your mom. Here is where I started my ideas of what I could do with the tablecloth that brought back so many memories of my mom, my family and enjoying meals together as a small child. To my great fortune I found Open Door Quilting and spoke to Michael on the phone about the idea of having him quilt the tablecloth. It turned out absolutely beautiful. His work is SUPERIOR. Working with Michael was a very informative, fun and happy experience. I am thrilled with my gorgeous and precious keepsake. I know I will be going back to Open Door Quilting and I will be encouraging anyone who has an interest in quilting projects of the highest quality to definitely contact Open Door Quilting. Thank you again, Michael.
